At Bow Lane Dental we provide highly specialised gum treatments to treat swollen gums, eradicate gum disease and repair excess / worn gums.

Bow Lane Dental are one of the few practices in the Country to provide highly specialised gum treatments to our patients using our in-house Periodontist, or gum specialist as he is more commonly referred to, Federico Tinti.

Gum treatments

Many gum problems respond to dental hygiene services and traditional gum treatments, but Federico is on hand to treat the more advanced cases such as:

• Gum disease treatments
  More advanced gum disease can be treated by Federico using root planning, which is a deep cleaning service under local anesthetic
• Reshaping gums
  Swollen gums often caused by medication or pregnancy can be reshaped
• Surgical correction for excess gums
  Gummy smiles (smiles where too much gum is showing) can be replaced with a great natural smile using root planning that simply removes excess gum tissue using lasers or modern drilling techniques
• Replacing lost gum tissue
  Gum tissue which is missing, usually through disease or over brushing can be replaced using modern grafting techniques

Profile of Federico Tinti

Federico graduated from the Dental School of the University of Bologna (Italy) in 1998. He attended a One Year Full-Time Certificate Course in Periodontics at the New York University (New York, USA) and then practiced for one year in Italy. He successfully completed a Master of Science Degree in Periodontology at Guy’s Hospital – King’s College of London in 2003.
