James qualified in 1992 from King’s College London. He has worked exclusively in the City since 1995. He took two years off to gain a masters degree in Conservative dentistry at the world-renowned Eastman Dental Institute.
James is a past-president of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). The AACD is the largest international dental organisation dedicated to advancing the art and science of cosmetic dentistry.
James is a member of Association of Dental Implantology, British Society Of Occlusal Studies,the British Dental Association and is a Dental Phobia certified dentist.
He lectures on tooth whitening techniques to other dentists and is on the board of the British Dental Bleaching Society. Lectures internationally on minimal invasive dentistry and marketing your practice.
James writes for Maxim magazine and has appeared on many television and radio interviews. He has twice been listed in Private Dentistry’s poll of the top 20 Elite Dentists in the UK in 2011 and 2012. He has been voted the most influential person in Dentistry in the UK in 2011 & 2012 by trade magazine “Dentistry“.
He is a trustee of Heart Your Smile, a registered charity set up to increase the attendance at the Dentist.
His book Brush is a number one best seller on Amazon and ALL the profits go to charity Dentaid. The first project is in Malawi where James is leading a dental team to deliver a skills transfer workshop.”

Heart Your Smile is the other initiative that I am involved in, an initiative that a group of us in the dental industry have launched to promote positivity in Dentistry.
The first project James plans to assist Dentaid with is a Dental programme for the poor in Malawi. He has donated a surgery to Malawi and is taking a team in July 2013.

“I have had a bad history with dentists in several countries, due to how they have treated me as their patient – as not important or not included in procedures.
