Nitewhite Home Usage Instructions
- Brush your teeth thoroughly for 2 minutes. Place a small lentil sized amount of the gel in the front surface of the tray for each tooth. Put the tray in your mouth and remove excess with a finger. Do not eat or try to talk with the tray in place. They need to be in place for about an hour.
- Each time you use the syringe squeeze out the first 2mm and discard this gel. Once the trays have been filled replace the plastic cap over the mixing tip so air does not deactivate the gel.
- Wear for one hour once or twice a day. Leave at least 2 hours between applications.
- After that take out the trays and rinse your mouth with water. Brush your teeth as normal; brush the trays with your toothbrush and cold water and leave in the open box to dry.
- Best results are achieved if you wear the trays every day for 1-2 weeks. Darker teeth may require a longer period. Initially start with just the upper tray and gradually start wearing the lower at the same time.
- Your teeth may experience sensitivity to hot and cold during the treatment. If they become very sensitive miss a day then continue. If they are still sensitive use Sensodyne toothpaste in the tray instead of the gel for one hour. You may feel better with a mild painkiller e.g. ibruprofen.
- Try not to smoke or drink tea, coffee, and red wine during the course of bleaching. If you are unable to manage this the most important time to avoid these substances is 2 hours after removing the tray.
- It may be necessary to top-up the colour 3-6 months later depending on the amount of staining. When you have not worn the trays for a while place them in some mouthwash for 30 seconds to freshen them. The trays then only need to be worn for 1-2 nights to get them back to the whiter colour. Any unused gel can be placed in the fridge for up to 2 years.
