What is a dental emergency?
There are a number of circumstances that would be classed as a dental emergency. Any kind of tooth ache or tooth pain – including wisdom tooth pain – is something that we would want to treat as soon as possible, because we believe that no one needs to be suffering in this way.
Facial swelling is also classed as a dental emergency as this could be a sign of an abscess. This would cause a lot of tenderness and pain around the swollen area, something that would require immediate treatment. If you notice swelling or experience pain in your gums this may also be a sign of infection, which is another symptom that we would want to treat quickly.
Dental trauma, such as a broken tooth, filling, denture, crown, veneer, or even orthodontic bracket or wire is also classed as a dental emergency, so if the unthinkable happens make sure you book your emergency dental appointment to ensure your smile is back on point!
