Whitening gels

Top up your teeth whitening with our peroxide gels for use in your whitening trays.

All you need to know about whitening gels

  • Different strengths available
  • Gels contain active ingredients
  • Top up at your leisure

Our whitening gels consist of two professional gel formulations (carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide) to whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home.

On contact with saliva our whitening gels both produce peroxide, which safely whitens your teeth.

There are various concentrations which are suited to different teeth, some are better for darker teeth and some better if you have sensitive teeth. Your Bow Lane dentist will prescribe the best gel for you.

You will then wear the trays with gel for between 30 minutes and two hours every day for 7-14 days or until you are happy with the result. You then top up the colour around very 6 months depending on your diet and how white you want your teeth to be.

Frequently asked questions

Does more peroxide give a quicker result?

Arrow Down (grey) thin | Bow Lane Dental in London

No. The higher the concentration the more likely you will experience sensitivity and the colour can fade over time. 10% carbamide peroxide is the gold standard and works for most people.

Can Tetracycline stained teeth be bleached?

Arrow Down (grey) thin | Bow Lane Dental in London

Tetracyline discolouration is only found in the dentine. It can be successfully treated but it needs a longer course of home whitening, usually around 3 months.
