Why are my teeth sensitive?

Why are my teeth sensitive?
Why are my teeth sensitive?

Almost half of our patients coming in to see us on a regular basis complain of having some degree of sensitivity with hot and cold drinks or foods and sometimes even with sweet or acidic things. We have often recommended using a sensitive toothpaste for this but for many people this is not enough and their teeth remain sensitive. This is a new London dentist sensitive teeth treatment.Well now at Bow Lane we can offer two unique solutions for those who suffer from tooth sensitivity caused by gum recession, exposed roots, acid damage, post teeth cleaning sessions or tooth bleaching.A) Philips has introduced a revolutionary gel with a patentedAmorphous Calcium Phosphate (ACP), fluoride and potassium nitrate mixthat tackles sensitive teeth in a unique way by relieving sensitivity and rebuilding your enamel. At Bow Lane we can make a bespoke custom made trays, specifically made for your mouth. At home you place the Relief ACP gel into the tray and wear for 20 minutes. This will need to be repeated for about a week and you will notice that your teeth become less sensitive. After an initial course of treatment your trays can be re-used as and when needed. All this for a single visit with us to take impressions.

Relief ACP Oral Care gel:
  • Dramatically reduces sensitivity
  • Rebuilds enamel - ACP rebuilds enamel by creating a new coating of hydroxyapatite over the original tooth surface. Fluoride enhances remineralization by absorbing to the crystal surface and attracting calcium ions, followed by phosphate ions, leading to new mineral formation.

B) GlumaDesensitizer. This is a special gel that is painted onto the area of the tooth that is sensitive. The gel seals the minute canals which lead to the tooth nerve and so prevent unpleasant stimuli from being able to penetrate inside the tooth.Often in one application the sensitivity disappears. It may take a few applications if the sensitivity has been long-standing. it is simply applied by your Bow Lane Dentist or London hygienist. There is no need to avoid cold drinks or ice-creams. Together with Bow Lane, you can now quickly do something against this condition with a long-lasting effect.
